Organisation Overview: Incredible Kids is a grassroots Christian charity based in Bristol, dedicated to providing a safe haven and vital support network for disabled children, young individuals, and their families. Our mission extends beyond offering play sessions; we aim to empower overlooked communities, advocate for systemic enhancements, and champion inclusivity and compassion in society.

About the Role: We are seeking motivated and dedicated individuals to assist in the day-to-day organisation of Incredible Kids sessions. You will ensure quality play activities are facilitated within a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for children and young people aged 0 – 25 with disabilities or additional needs, and support their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Playworker and young girls around an arts and craft table outside.Work within a team environment to help organise, facilitate, and lead a range of play-based activities.
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of children, young people, and their siblings, especially during outdoor sessions.
  • Engage everyone in a friendly, enthusiastic, inclusive, and motivated manner.
  • Encourage parental involvement and support through effective professional relationships.
  • Maintain and ensure all play equipment is fit for purpose.
  • Keep records such as timesheets, support plans, and session plans.
  • Respond appropriately in emergencies.

Desired Experience:Child facing two tubes full of bubbles lit by a pink light.

  • Experience in any setting involving children (e.g., babysitting, coaching, volunteering, or tutoring).
  • Good sense of humour.
  • Awareness of the importance of equal opportunities.
  • Understanding of basic safety and safeguarding principles (training will be provided).
  • Interest in learning basic Makaton (training will be provided).

Location: The Vench, Romney Avenue, Lockleaze, Bristol.

Salary: £11.44 per hour

Hours:

  • Tuesday: 12.30pm – 3pm at Filton Children’s Centre
  • Wednesday: 12.30pm – 3pm at Filton Children’s Centre
  • Fridays: 2:30pm – 7:00pm at The Vench, Romney Avenue, Lockleaze
  • Saturdays: 9:00am – 6:00pm (30-minute lunch break) at The Vench, Romney Avenue, Lockleaze.
