Job: Weekend Playworker

We are looking for a kind and friendly person to help run play sessions for children with disabilities or additional needs. You’ll help set up toys, welcome families, and make sure children feel safe and included while they play. Full training is given. The job is part-time on Fridays and Saturdays. You’ll be part of a small, supportive team.

We are currently recruiting for a Weekend Playworker job to help create safe, joyful, and inclusive spaces for children and young people with additional needs. This is a part-time, permanent role based in Lockleaze, Bristol, working on Fridays and Saturdays.
Incredible Kids is an award-winning, Christian-led charity founded by local parents. Since 2012, we’ve supported over 1,500 families of children and young people with additional needs and disabilities across Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
We offer inclusive play sessions designed to reduce isolation, improve wellbeing, and support families in a safe, understanding space. While our values are Christian-led, we warmly welcome people of all faiths or none who are committed to inclusion and kindness.
We’re looking for a joyful, enthusiastic, and caring individual to join our friendly team. You’ll help set up and run our weekend play sessions, support families during their visit, and make sure children have the chance to play, relax and be themselves.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Preparing the play space and welcoming families
Supporting children and young people to engage in meaningful play
Helping with inductions for new families
Tidying and cleaning after sessions
Working closely with a small team of trained playworkers
Location: The Vench, Romney Avenue, Lockleaze, Bristol BS7 9TD
(With the ability to travel to Fishponds if required)
Hours: Uo to 13.5 per week (Fridays & Saturdays)
Pay: Up to £12.21 per hour (depending on age) rising to £12.71 in April 2026.
Contract: Part-time, permanent, zero hours, school holidays only also available.
Schedule:
Fridays 3.30pm–8.00pm | Saturdays 9.00am–6.00pm
You don’t need to have previous playwork experience – we’ll provide full training. This role may suit:

The safety and wellbeing of children and families is our highest priority. All staff undergo an Enhanced DBS check, safeguarding and first aid training, and must provide two references. We follow strict safer recruitment procedures in line with UK guidelines. A criminal record is not an automatic barrier to working with us and will be reviewed sensitively in line with our policies.
