Step Inside the Science Lab: Free Hands-On Inclusive STEM Workshop for Young People This August

We’re excited to invite families to a unique science experience this summer – an inclusive hands-on workshop created especially for young people aged 10–16,  those with additional needs and their siblings.

On Tuesday 12th August, Incredible Kids will be joining forces with experts from Cero Generation and Science Creates Outreach to host an exciting STEM workshop at the Science Creates Learning Lab in Old Market, Bristol.

This is not just any science session. Held inside the incredible Science Creates incubator – a hub for groundbreaking Deep Tech start-ups – the workshop will give children and young people the rare chance to go behind the scenes of a real science innovation centre. It’s the kind of opportunity that helps young minds imagine a future where they can shape the world through science.

What to expect

Participants will take part in hands-on experiments and engaging science activities designed to spark curiosity and confidence. With experienced STEM facilitators from Science Creates Outreach and sustainability innovators Cero Generation, the workshop will introduce young people to real-world science aimed at improving health and improving the world.

Sessions are tailored to be inclusive and accessible for children with additional needs. As a result, parents and carers are asked to stay on-site during the event.

Event Details

Date: Tuesday 12th August
Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm
Location: Science Creates Old Market, Midland Road, BS2 0NS

The venue is fully wheelchair accessible, with step-free access throughout. Whilst there is no on-site parking, Gardiner Haskins car park is less than a minute’s walk away, and there is additional parking on nearby residential streets.

Why this matters

Obviously at Incredible Kids, we know how powerful hands-on learning can be – especially when it’s delivered in an inclusive quiet environment where children and young people can be themselves.

We’re proud to partner with Cero Generation and Science Creates Outreach (registered charity no. 1199986) to make opportunities like this available to families who are often overlooked by mainstream services.

Book your space today

Places are limited, and we expect this workshop to fill up quickly. To reserve a space for your child, please book your place below. What’s more you don’t need to be a member of Incredible Kids to attend but you should meet our criteria for membership by having a child or young person with additional needs. Siblings who don’t have additional needs are welcome to attend.

Finally, we can’t wait to welcome you for a morning of science, exploration, and excitement!
