What to Expect

Each session combines playful movement with sensory experiences. Children will be encouraged to join in however they feel comfortable, using props such as ribbons, scarves, textured fabrics, and musical instruments. The Flamingo Chicks team use adapted choreography that supports different physical and developmental needs – making the session fully accessible. An Incredible Kids playworker will be on hand to make sure you and your child feel at home.

There’ll be opportunities for singing, dancing, and exploring Makaton signs in a fun and engaging way. Whether your child loves to dance or just prefers watching from the sidelines, they are welcome.

Parents and carers are encouraged to take part too, helping to create a shared experience that builds confidence, connection, and wellbeing.

Why We’re Offering This

This summer programme is a collaboration between two inclusive organisations committed to creating joyful, accessible spaces for families. Flamingo Chicks is a nationwide charity using dance to break down barriers for disabled children, while Incredible Kids is a Bristol-based charity that supports disabled children and their families through inclusive play sessions.

At Incredible Kids, families often tell us how hard it is to find activities that welcome both their disabled child and their siblings – especially in school holidays. This dance class helps fill that gap by creating a friendly environment where everyone feels included.
