PDA Support Group for Families: Inclusive Play Sessions in Bristol

We are excited to announce the return of our Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) support group sessions at Incredible Kids! Although we launched this event in late 2019, our plans for the second session in March 2020 were delayed. After a long pause, we are thrilled to welcome families back to these invaluable sessions.

What is PDA?

Pathological Demand Avoidance is a profile that falls under the autism spectrum and is characterized by an extreme avoidance of everyday demands and expectations. It is often accompanied by high anxiety levels and is sometimes difficult to diagnose. If your child has been diagnosed with PDA or you suspect they may have this condition, our support group is here to help.

About Our PDA Support Group

Our PDA support group is run by parents of children with PDA who understand the unique challenges you face. We offer a welcoming and supportive environment where you can connect with other families navigating similar experiences.

What to Expect

  • Inclusive Play Sessions: The whole family is welcome to join our demand-free play sessions. Children are encouraged to engage in activities at their own pace, allowing them to have fun without pressure.

  • Supportive Community: Meet other parents and carers who understand your unique struggles. It’s a chance to share experiences, exchange advice, and build a network of support.

  • Relaxed Atmosphere: Enjoy a laid-back environment where you can have a cup of tea and chat with other parents and carers if you wish. Our sessions are designed to be stress-free for both children and adults.

Why Join Our PDA Support Group?

  • Understanding and Empathy: Our group is led by parents who have firsthand experience with PDA, ensuring a compassionate and understanding approach.

  • Connection and Community: Form meaningful connections with other families and build a support network that extends beyond our sessions.

  • Fun and Freedom: Children can explore and play in a safe space, free from the demands that can often lead to stress and anxiety.
